COMPLETE CLIP TRANSCRIPT: "This is the most important gathering of Latinos across the country since the civil rights movement of the late 1960's. And what comes out of this conference, the positions that people take on issues with respect to housing; with respect to jobs; with respect to health care...all these things are going to be very, very critical...the environment...to the political agendas of those who want to "rub shoulders" with the Latinos in this country. And in California, in particular, I can tell you, ask Phil Angeledis and he'll tell you; if he has the Latino vote, he'll win. Ask Governor Schwarzenegger and he'll tell you; if he gets 30% of the Latino vote, he thinks he can win the election. So the political power of "our" community has grown exponentially. [I didn't know he was elected to the Assembly to represent a "certain" community!?!] It's time for use to not only look at the politics, but look at vehicles within...we can say, these are cohesive platform points that are important to Latinos...and if you want to advance an agenda for America, you gotta include these things in it. MAYOR, ERIC GARCETTI, KEVIN DELEON AND NUCKLEHEAD NUNEZ AT MCARTHUR PARK:
("Without justice there will be no peace" - Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa)
AFTER MEETING WITH BILL CLINTON IN NYC, VILLARAIGOSA SLAMS CURRENT WASHINGTON LEADERSHIP (PERHAPS BUSH) -- OVER THE NEW "GREEN UP IT'S ACT" INITIATIVE.]
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: (Besides slamming Bush) "We have an LA River Master Plan, 52 miles of river creating an "emerald necklace" around that river. We have made a $100 million investment and when we are done and when we're over investing [that's over, investing...not over-investing] in this initiative, we'll have spent some $7 BILLION dollars." - MAV [Ooops, I DO think you meant "over-investing".]
"First of all, as you know, Los Angeles is the "gridlock" capital of the United States of America. It's also the capital City of dirty air and smog. It's the quinnisential "City of Sprawl" -- which means most of our housing is in the outer-core and the jobs are in the inner-core. A City that has relied...over-relied on the single passenger automobile to the detriment of a built out public transportation system." - Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (Nice PR for the City, pal!)
MANNHATANIZATION OF LOS ANGELES: "Instead of building out, we're gonna build up . Transit villages along transportation corridors to grow ridership for our public transportation." -MAV
[Yeah, then we'll switch to the metric system, everyone will recycle all their beer and soda cans, quit smoking, end poverty, donate 10% of all income to charity, spend time doing more community outreach...HELL NAW...Damn it City of Los Angeles...It's a HUGE mistake to make actual plans when the formula factors having to transform society as a whole. (Get them out of their cars.) IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. TOO LARGE, GEOGRAPHICALLY. Besides, every home comes with two parking spaces.
PENSION FUNDS INTO RISKY SPECULATIVE FUTURE TECHNOLOGIES: "We are going to be giving away 50,000 energy efficient refrigerators to low income families. [Who's paying for them?] We even have an initiative, the only one in the world, to transform bio-solids into energy. The need to "green" California, invest in the environment. And to the critics who say, "When you go green, you inherently undermine the economy and lose jobs...There is a whole new industry that comes with going green. The technology we use for alternative fuels; for energy efficient appliances; for all of the very important initiatives that we are doing here in Los Angeles and the State of California...those are the technologies that we can export around the world. Because every City around the world is grappling with the issue of "global climate change"." - MAV
[Oh really...can I see those statistics -- on every City who is "grappling" and the fact that we are, indeed, factually going through "global climate change"? Cause you are talking about investing people's pensions into your speculation.]
"We are looking at our pension funds and identifying ways to invest our pension funds into green economy; citing green businesses in parts of the City that has been left behind; where manufacturing has left and there's a great opportunity to provide good jobs. Jobs that pay a decent "living wage"; jobs that are part of the green economy." - MAV
[ZD: I'm all for that, EXCEPT the part about taking "our" pension funds and investing them in your speculative, alternative, energy business. Cause from a "marketing strategy" analysis...again, you are not going to get society as a whole to switch to alternative energy sources enough to make a meaningful impact. For example, hybrid cars are gonna stay a novelty for quite some time. Develop these technologies and try to implement them, yes! But do it with private money...not pension funds...WAAAAAAAAAAAY to speculative and risky. Meanwhile, I think educating the general public to things they can do, personally, everyday (empower them with the knowledge) to do more to "pitch in" everyday on a practical level, cause not everyone is gonna by a hybrid or install solar panels and stop driving.]

YouTube Video: Clinton Co-Chair, LA Mayor ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA "Getting a little heated" At City's MTA Meeting Last Week (COMEDY CLASSIC)
You may have heard that Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has endorsed Hillary Clinton for President and was appointed Clinton Co-Chair.

AP - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's political courtship of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa landed her an early, influential endorsement this week that highlights the intense competition among presidential candidates for support within the growing Hispanic population.
Candidates in both major parties are reaching out to Hispanic voters with an intensity that speaks to the importance of the nation's largest and fastest-growing minority group in the 2008 campaign.
Immigration reform is a touchstone issue for many Hispanics, particularly in cities like Los Angeles, which has strong cultural and economic ties to Mexico. California has as many as 3 million illegal immigrants, the most of any state.
Villaraigosa's support for Clinton rested in part on their agreement on the need for a federal law that would include a pathway to citizenship for many of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the country, among other provisions.
The senator earlier hired Villaraigosa political adviser (and blog spin doctor to combat anti-Villaraigosa political activist Zuma Dogg) Michael Trujillo to run her California campaign and named state Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, a close friend of the mayor and another prominent Hispanic politician, a national co-chair of her campaign.
***** She also appointed Villaraigosa a national co-chair. *****
Villaraigosa's endorsement "is proof that the Clinton campaign's focus and strategy to win the Latino vote continues to grow stronger," the statement said.

LOS ANGELES MAYOR ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA AND HILLARY CLINTON CAMPAIGN CO-CHAIR FABIAN "NUCKLEHEAD" NUNEZ AT MCARTHUR PARK DELIVERING A RALLY SPEECH: (Subtitles in English)
"Only with justice will we arrive at peace", shouted the elected official, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
HEY ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA...Perhaps the text translation got it wrong. Did you REALLY say that? I thought we were supposed to always remain peaceful. You just said, "right to peaceful protests/marches/demonstrations". But, then you say, "Without justice, no peace." Sounds kind of riot inciting -- even to ZD. Plus a tad divisive.
SO, ONCE A FINDING HAS BEEN MADE, THEN YOU WILL BE PEACEFUL. AND EVERYONE WILL BE SATISFIED AND PEACEFUL ONCE THE REPORT IS COMPLETE/JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED? OR WILL YOUR AUDIENCE BE "EVALUATING" THE JUSTICE IN IT'S OWN COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION -- THEN DECIDE WHETHER TO ARRIVE AT PEACE?]

Hillary Clinton Fans...MEET Mark Penn -- Hillary's Secret Weapon!
Hillary Clinton has a coterie of influential advisers. There's her husband, über-Washington insider and former head of the Democratic National Committee Terry McAuliffe. There are A-list policy wonks like former Treasury Secretary Bob Rubin. But perhaps the most important figure in the campaign is her pollster and chief strategist, Mark Penn, a combative workaholic. Penn is not yet a household name, but perhaps he should be. The campaign is polling constantly, and Penn's interpretation of the numbers will in large part decide her political direction.
Yet Penn is no ordinary pollster. Beyond his connections to the Clintons, he not only polls for America's biggest companies but also runs one of the world's premier PR agencies. This creates a dilemma for Hillary: Penn represents many of the interests whose influence candidate Clinton--in an attempt to appeal to an increasingly populist Democratic electorate--has vowed to curtail. Is what's good for Penn and his business good for Hillary's political career? And furthermore, can she convincingly claim to fight for the average American with Penn guiding strategy in her corner?
Despite the risks he poses, it's easy to figure out why Hillary clings to Penn. "They were the ones who said 'Make the '96 election about nothing except V-Chips and school uniforms,'" says a former Clinton adviser.
It was said that Penn was the only person who could get Bill Clinton and Bill Gates on the same phone line. Penn's largest client was Microsoft, and he saw no contradiction between working for both the plaintiff and the defense in what was at the time the country's largest antitrust case. A variety of controversial clients enlisted PSB. The firm defended Procter and Gamble's Olestra drug from charges that it caused anal leakage, blamed Texaco's bankruptcy on greedy jurors and market-tested genetically modified foods for Monsanto. Penn invented the concept of "inoculation," in which corporations are shielded from scandal through clever advertising and marketing. Selling an image, companies realized, was as important as winning a legislative favor. (continues....)

The agreement, according to Intelligence Online, allowed the Lincoln Group to "tap into BKSH's extensive contacts in the Republican administration." When asked by The New Yorker if there was too much cronyism in Iraq, Black responded, "I just wish I could find the cronies."

HILLARY CLINTON, Call Fabian Nunez and tell him to REALLY fix LAUSD (LA School System): It's causing a NATIONAL crisis!
To: Hillary Clinton, Candidate U.S. President
Fr: Zuma Dogg, Public Advocate of the Communuity
Re: Fixing the LAUSD (Los Angeles School System)
Dt: Today!
Dear President Bush and Governor Schwarzenegger,
I know you are both well aware of the current economic and social crisis in Los Angeles, California caused by the broken system called LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District).
Both of you know that Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa just spent the past year trying to blow that shady curveball Assembly Bill 1381 (Mayoral control of LAUSD, but it was so shady and unconstitutional (like most of what happens in Los Angeles City Hall, these days) that it got overturned in court (of course).
And now, newly appointed Superintendent David Brewer (who everyone seems to like, thus far) has basically delclared the school system is a COMPLETE disaster, beyone anyone’s wildest imagination.
And now that the Fabian “Nucklehead” Nunez AB 1381 school takeover bill has failed miserably, the politicians are trying to pick up the ball, but they are playing politics. And Zuma Dogg see NO solution in site.
Fellaz...I don’t have to tell you, Los Angeles is about one dropout away from having to be declared a FEDERAL DISASTER ZONE. I know LAUSD certainly should.
But the mayor seems to think just because the school system is more hazardous to public safety than a toxic waste dump -- that means HE should be able to take control. (Which is faulty logic.)
So here is an actual school reform motion, that Antonio Villaraigosa’s office is WELL AWARE of, as is Los Angeles City Council.
But LA City Hall is has kinda become the “Bad News Bears” of politics (see www.mayorsam.blogspot.com) and I wouldn’t trust them to subsitute teach first grade...let alone reform the largest local bueracratic mess in history.
So, can you please take a look at this and pick up the phone and tell these clowns running the City to stop collection campaign contributions for two seconds and DO SOMETHNG. ZUMA DOGG IS DELCARING THE LAUSD SCHOOL SYSTEM A LOCAL DISASTER AREA AND STATE AND FEDERAL EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE IS REQUIRED IMMEDIATLEY. Just because it is a man made disaster, does not mean this is not a local, state and national emergency demanding your immediate attention.

Dear President Bush and Governor Schwarzenegger,
I know you are both well aware of the current economic and social crisis in Los Angeles, California caused by the broken system called LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District).

HILLARY CLINTON MAKES "DEAL WITH THE DEVIL" (CA Assemblyman Fabian "Nuckelhead" Nunez) To Secure California Hispanic Vote
ART OF CAMPAIGN WAR: HILLARY CLINTON NAMES "NUCKLEHEAD" NUNEZ CAMPAIGN CO-CHAIR AND SECURES HISPANIC VOTE AND THE PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES.
PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT: Did Hillary Clinton REALLY name FABIAN "NUCKLEHEAD" NUNEZ Campaign Co-Chair?
U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton named California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, a national co-chair of her presidential campaign last month.
Clinton made the announcement in a conference call with reporters. The senator said she is going to be relying on the Los Angeles lawmaker "very heavily.'' The endorsement from the powerful statehouse dealmaker gives Clinton a seasoned political hand in the nation's largest state.
Hillary, Hillary, Hillary...you can't be that weak already. (Having to make your deal with the devil (Nunez) already? After all, don't you know he fumbled assigned task of AB 1381 like a greased watermelon? THAT'S Hillary's "seasoned political hand?"
This guy Nunez is trouble, and a threat to US safety. The number one talk radio show in Los Angeles, KFI's John and Ken call Nunez, "The most dangerous politician in the State." And now Hillary is jumping on his bandwagon? YIKES! Plus, you need to consider that Latham and Waktins helped push Bill Clinton into office, and we know L&W is very "Antonio Freindly" so to speak.
Here’s some recent press from last week that supports this theory: Union President Robert Baker singled out Nunez for telling reporters that police officers had "wanted to do some target practice on some of the immigrants that were marching."
"Your words were dangerous and unethical," Baker chided in a letter released Saturday. "Fomenting crowds to distrust the LAPD encourages more of the kind violence that already plagues your district."
Now from a “Sun Zu/Ries & Trout/Zuma Dogg” analysis, I guess she had to make this deal to prevent Nunez from hopping on Obama’s bandwagon. However, Latham and Wakins (LA lawfirm tight with Villaraigosa/Nunez crew -- and helped get Bill Clinton in to office) -- never would have let that happen, anyway. But I guess that is the bone Nunez was able to leverage for himself. And the Clinton compromise begins. And finally, if Hillary is jumping in bed with Clinton, that means a high level position must be in store for Nunez’ compadre’ Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
And now, since it's Sunday...Here's a little political, first amendment humor, brought to you by Election Press' ZUMA DOGG, in Los Angeles, CA. I guess you are not allowed to wear a Gene Simmons mask to protect your identity during "public comment", even though it is "protected expression" under the Brown Act and First Amendment. (Political comedy with a point. If you don't walk up to the line, for a "first amendment check" every once in a while, you may find the line continues to get pushed further and further back by your elected officials. More to come. Don't be fooled by the "diversionary" issues that will be discussed this election season. Stand by and make a "Google Alert" for "election press".

BEWARE INTERNET RESEARCH POLLS THIS ELECTION HILLARY CLINTON AND BARACK OBAMA
HILLARY CLINTON VS BARACK OBABMA: Google Trends data shows 'Barack Obama' leading 'Hillary Clinton'.
SO WHAT? Here's why:
Google ratings mean nothing in predicting election results.
Why not? It only represents active internet users. (Skewing younger, demographically.)
However, during a Presidential election all the little ole ladies and older, non-internet savvy users come out to vote.
So as much as I love Google for all that it is, and am excited about their new "Google Trends" (BETA), this is a very unscientfic analysis, unless you are tending a certain pyschogrpahic.
